If you were to steal my phone and peek into my notepad, you’d find thousands of poems, all labeled “poem.” I never liked titling them, so I just started labeling them all “poem” to circle back to and label later, but then it became my thing, and now it’s intentional.
This month, we are kicking off with a Chloe original poem to set the tone, because we are kicking it up a notch. Consider this month’s report a call to level up. You ready? Let’s do it.
Poem
In another life, I stare into the mirror
I look the same
But it’s the version of me that
Didn’t have the courage to believe she could do more
So she never tried

I wrote this poem recently after waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, feeling something in my eye, and going to the mirror to try to get it out. I, half-asleep, look in the mirror and see myself, and have this moment of thinking about all the previous versions of me that went after big dreams that got me here.
I walked back to bed and wrote that poem in my notepad at like 3:00AM.
I am so grateful that the girl looking in the mirror at 22 years old chose to believe in some big dreams and go after them. Had there not been that tiny voice of courage, I would have never taken any of the steps to build the life I have today.
And honestly, if I’ve learned one thing, it’s how much power there is in going after those big goals. Rarely ever do I meet someone who doesn’t have an audacious goal or dream. If they say that they don’t think they have one, after five minutes of talking big picture, the dream or goal always comes up in conversation, because it was never lost and it was never unknown. It was just hidden below layers upon layers of:
“Well, that’s not realistic.”
“Yeah, but that could never happen.”
“It’s embarrassing, I don’t even know how I would do it.”
“The likelihood of it ever happening is so minimal.”
“I don’t know…I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
“I’m just so busy right now, it’s not a good time.”
Meanwhile, there exist millions of opportunities, scenarios, and possibilities of ways that that dream could exist.
Yes, of course, there will always be external forces at play that we can’t control, but today we are focusing on all of the things we can control and all of the multitudes of ways we can bring that dream into reality.
So, what if the only version of you that you can control (you right now) started to believe in yourself and your dream in a way that you never have before?
I don’t care if that dream is to run a 5k, start a business, learn how to invest, change careers, post on social media, get a raise, feel stronger, make new friends, buy a rental property, or start a monthly book club with friends.
Whatever it is, I want you to write it down.
Then I want you to give me the next 30 days, and every single day, I want you to believe wholeheartedly that you are capable of bringing this dream to reality, and that it is on your heart for a reason.
Every time a doubt pops up, you feel cringeworthy or embarrassed, something feels like it won’t work…I want you to shut that thought down. Give me 30 days of unapologetic belief in yourself and this idea, and then we can re-evaluate.
Set a daily reminder in your phone that says, “If I fully believed (insert dream here) was possible, what is one thing I would do today to bring it into reality?” Do one thing every day for the next 30 days.
This is happening. It’s yours. And you, right now in this exact moment, you are the version of yourself looking in the mirror who does have the courage to believe in yourself.
