THE AUGUST REPORT

Welcome back, Wealthy Girls.
Let’s start with a thought that’s been on my mind lately: Your life is headed in the direction of your strongest thoughts. The bad news is... if your strongest thoughts are taking you in a direction you don’t want to be in, it might be time to reroute. The good news is that if your strongest thoughts are taking you in the direction you want to be in. Either way, this sentiment is incredibly powerful in the pursuit of creating more of what we want and less of what we don’t want. So, it sparks a few questions:
1. What direction do you want your life to be headed in?
2. What are your strongest thoughts?
3. Are your strongest thoughts leading you in the direction you want your life to be headed in?
4. If not, what are new thoughts that better align with the direction you want to be headed in?
These questions are such a great check-in with our subconscious to get a better idea of where our cruise control is currently taking us and if we want to pivot or shift in any capacity.
For me, I’ve recently been locked in on this idea more than ever. But it’s not a one-and-done type of practice. It’s a constant evolution as you grow and shift, the goal is that your thoughts also grow and shift— taking you in new directions to all the new places you want to go. However, what often happens, without even realizing it, is that our goals and priorities change, and where we want to go updates, but our strongest thoughts (that eventually become set in stone as our beliefs) are taking us to a previous destination, keeping us caught in similar cycles.
So, taking stock in the above questions can allow us to break out of those minor cycles, creating new, stronger thoughts that we listen to, act on, and therefore lead us in the direction we want to go.
And these thought directions can be massive transformational shifts, or they can be minor, everyday moments that are creating the same cycles for you.
An example I’ve been sharing about recently is wanting to create less chaotic, frantic, rushed, and disorganized energy in my day-to-day life. So, a few weeks ago, I sat down and ran through the questions above, and I want to share them with you and provide an example of working through this framework.
1. What direction do you want your life to be headed in?
I want my life to be headed in the direction of softness, luxury, slow-paced, intentional living. I want fewer minor frustrations, chaos, and disorganization. I want my nervous system to be in a constant state of relaxation.
2. What are your strongest thoughts?
In this area, my strongest thoughts are usually, “Of course this happens!”, “Something always comes up and creates chaos or a rush!”
3. Are your strongest thoughts leading you in the direction you want your life to be headed in?
Absolutely not. These thoughts not only keep me looking for problems and chaos, but also make me feel like that’s just the way it is. My strongest thoughts in this area fully enforce this belief that this is just the way things are, so there’s no point in changing them. My strongest thoughts in this area aren’t leading me in the direction I want to go in.
4. If not, what are new thoughts that better align with the direction you want to be headed in?
I want to replace these thoughts with the new thought that when something chaotic or frustrating pops up, I can deal with the situation, but have my first thought be “I’m so glad this is showing me a way I can bring softness, peace, and luxury into my life.” I want my strongest thoughts to show that I can create luxury, softness and peace in any situation, so when something pops up, my strongest thought is that I can bring peace into this situation, because my life gets to be peaceful, soft and luxurious and a frantic moment is a minor hiccup that I can work on creating a solution for for next time to create more overall peace and luxury. That new thought would absolutely align with the direction I want to head in, and that’s what I am going to start thinking in these situations.
After going through this framework, I started a notepad of “ways to create luxury” (because to me, creating less frantic, disorganized moments is luxury!) and every time something minor pops up— instead of thinking “Well something always comes up,” I instead think “OMG! Yay! This is another example of a wayI can bring peace to my life!” and I add to the list of ways to create luxury. Then, when I have had extra time, I’ve gone through the list and made minor updates to my life to help decrease these disorganized moments. It’s been so unbelievably helpful. From organizing my bathroom drawer, to adding an extension cord under my desk at work so I don’t have to crawl under and switch which thing is plugged in, to buying all of the same socks so I don’t have to spend so long trying to find matching pairs— it’s been the biggest game changer. But more so, this framework has changed the direction this area of my life is headed in. I am now always looking for ways to bring luxury into my life, instead of accepting it as “the way it is” and being stuck in that chaotic direction.
What an opportunity it is to use our own thoughts to our advantage as a way to magnetize the life we want by hacking our own physiology. Now I want to challenge you to do the same. Pick one though cycle that has you headed in the wrong direction and re-route. Start a notepad of ways to reinforce this new thought process. You have the power to redirect, so let’s make it a great month. You are powerful and capable beyond ways you even imagine.
